Sushi Bake: A potluck dish your friends and family will love

October 23, 2022 Uncategorized

Sushi Bake has become increasingly popular potluck dish in recent years. It’s easy to see why: it’s flavorful, can be made ahead of time, and is always a hit with guests. Plus, there’s no raw fish involved (which can be a turnoff for some people). In this post, I’ll show you how to make a delicious sushi bake at home. Trust me, it’s easier than you think!

Sushi Bake in staub baking dish

What ingredients do you need to make a sushi bake?

3 cups sushi rice, cooked according to package instructions
1/3 cup Japanese mayonnaise, (I like Kewpie)

Kewpie is a Japanese Mayonnaise that taste a bit sweeter. It’s higher in egg yolk, it has msg, and it is more flavorful.

Furikake
Crab meat, canned or imitation crab meat
Nori sheets
Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish
Sriracha

Cream cheese

Green Onions
Wasabi, Avocado, Jalapeno for serving (optional)

How to make Sushi Bake

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

In a large bowl, mix together cooked salmon, crab meat, mayonnaise, cream cheese, green onions and sriracha until evenly combined. Set aside.

In your baking dish, mix rice, rice wine vinegar, sriracha. Press the rice into an even layer that completely covers your baking dish.

Sprinkle a layer of furikake over your rice.

Spread salmon and crab meat mixture evenly over furikake/ nori sheet.

Bake for 12 minutes

Garnish with mayonnaise, sriracha, green onions.

Enjoy!

Can you use any fish to make a Sushi Bake?

Yes, you can use any fish that your heart desires. I personally love to use tuna as well.

That’s it! You’ve now made yourself a delicious sushi bake that is sure to be a hit at your next potluck or family gathering. Although it may seem daunting at first, making sushi bake is actually quite simple once you get the hang of it. And who knows? With practice, you might even become a sushi bake master!
