How to make quick and easy shrimp and grits

June 11, 2021 Easy Meals, Food + Recipes, Uncategorized

If you’re looking for a quick shrimp and grits recipe that hits the spot, every single time, then you are at the right place my friend. My quick and easy pan seared shrimp have a well-seasoned, tangy profile that that pairs so well with my creamy cheesy grits.

This delicious recipe is brought to you in partnership with ZWILLING. This post also includes affiliate links that allow me to receive commission for your purchases at no additional cost to you. Thank you for supporting the brands that support RosalynnDaniels.com.

My friends at ZWILLING are celebrating their 290th birthday this year. To help them celebrate, they asked that I share a recipe that represents the love that my family shares in the kitchen. Immediately, I knew that I wanted to make my Quick and Easy Shrimp and Grits. This recipe is inspired by my family’s recipe, which takes a bit longer. But just because my new recipe takes a quarter of the time to make, that does not mean that it lacks any of the flavor.

I’m sure by now, you  guys know that I’m a true fan of ZWILLING products. I think it’s because of the memories that stem from seeing my Mom in the kitchen cooking in her Staub Dutch  oven and cast iron skillet. It seems like it was so long ago when I was a kid asking my mom to taste whatever was simmering on the stove. Now it’s my kids asking me for a taste of whatever I’m cooking, especially if it’s my Shrimp and Grits which I choose to make in my ZWILLING Madura Plus deep fry pan set because they’re non-stick and perfect for a quick dinner. ZWILLING has been in my family for three generations now, that’s why their 290th birthday hits home for me. This brand has been helping my family for generations.

What ingredients do you need to make Shrimp and Grits?

  • Grits
  • Butter
  • Heavy Whipping Cream
  • Seasoning Salt
  • Pepper
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Large Shrimp
  • Onion
  • Bell Pepper
  • Smoked Paprika
  • Garlic Powder
  • Blackened Seasoning
  • Dried Parsley
  • White dry wine
  • Heavy Whipping Cream

I typically make this recipe in my ZWILLING Madura Plus deep fry pan set because I genuinely appreciate an everyday non-stick pan. Grits are one of those foods that can do some intense sticking to any pot or pan that it’s cooked in, but with my Madura pans, they never stick! This allows perfectly cooked grits that has no clumps in it, which is perfect for my family because sometimes we get so carried away in the fun that we have in the kitchen, that we don’t want to have any accidental burning of our food. So when making this dish in ZWILLING Madura Plus deep fry pan set you can cook it with a peace of mind.

Ingredients

Scale

Grits

4 cups of cooked grits

2tbs Salted Butter

1/2c Heavy Whipping Cream

1tsp Seasoning Salt

1/4tsp Black Pepper

1c Cheddar (shredded)

Shrimp

1/2–1lb Large Shrimp

1c Bacon (diced)

1 1/2c Bell Pepper (diced)

1 Onion (diced)

1/2tbs Garlic Powder

1/2tbs Creole Seasoning

1/2tbs Blackened Seasoning

1/2tbs Dried Parsley

2c Dry White Wine

1c Heavy Whipping Cream

Instructions

In your 9.5″ Madura pan make grits according to the package directions.

Once cooking is complete, stir in butter, cream, cheese, and seasoning.

Leave pan on low until ready to serve with your shrimp. (Stir in extra cream if grits get stiff before serving)

In your 11″ Madura pan, sauté bacon until fully cooked.

Add onion, bell peppers, and seasoning to the pan and sauté until vegetables are tender. (It is ok for your bacon to become crisp. That’s exactly what you want.)

Pour in your white wine and let simmer on low for 5 minutes.

Stir in your heavy whipping cream.

Stir in your raw shrimp and let simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

Pour desired amount of shrimp and sauce over your desired amount of grits.

Enjoy!
