Overnight Chia Oats for the win this morning. They definitely have been coming in handy, because Lord knows I don’t have the energy to cook anything elaborate.

Overnight Cinnamon Oats with Chia Seeds (small batch)
You can make a large batch of overnight oats in a bowl or smaller batch in a mason jar:

Ingredients
1c Old Fashioned Oats
1c Milk or plant based milk
1tbs Chia Seeds
1tsp Cinnamon
1tbs Maple Syrup
Instructions
Mix all ingredients in a mason jar
Cover and refrigerate for 12 hours
Either eat cold or heated
Top with favorite fruit, nuts, and/or nut butter
(Triple the ingredients for a larger batch, and store in a large bowl)

Are you Trick-or-Treating this year? Unfortunately we won’t be able to, however, we’ve decided to have an intimate Halloween Boo Night at the house with a select few. I know Halloween is meant for the kids to enjoy the most, but you know I can’t leave out something geared towards the adults. I’ve decided to have Potions a.k.a. Bottled Cocktails, waiting and ready to grab throughout the evening. All I do, is fill empty bottles with a variety of different cocktail options and label them with cute names. I’ll be filling these with Jack Roses (recipe link in my bio) and Champagne with a splash of Aperol. Some label ideas, “Love potion”, “Polyjuice potion”, “Draught of Peace”, you get my drift.

Maternity leave has been pretty awesome thus far.

Maternity leave has been pretty awesome thus far. You guys, the Mom and Wife guilt that I had been feeling for the last 4-5 months was UNREAL! Do you ever feel this? It’s like, my kids and Husband were forced to stay home because of the pandemic, but I was also forced to zone out in order to be able to focus on work and get things done. Like, I was there physically, but not mentally there. That just isn’t the mother and wife that I want to be.

Although my family encouraged me to stay focused on work, I just didn’t feel good about it. Taking an early maternity leave was me giving myself permission to tell clients NO! Because at the end of the day, they don’t care about what you’re going through, they only care about their agenda and quotas, and that’s understandable. But I have to think about mine too! So, I took my power back, and it feels pretty DAMN GOOD! The last 2 weeks have been a dream to truly be present in the lives of my little family. They deserve it, this is the Mom and Wife that I want to be. Can anyone relate?
